It's summertime in Hot-Lanta. Needless to say my family is spending lots of time at the pool this summer. Since heat is the name of the game in July, I turn to frozen treats and "keep my cool."
Frozen fruit smoothies
Frozen fruit slushes
Frozen bananas
Creamsicles
and Frozen yogurt drops.
Frozen Yogurt Drops are a great way to use up extra yogurt and they are delicious. (It's amazing how much more interesting a food can become by just adjusting its temperature.)
Frozen Fruit Drops have just 1 ingredient - yogurt.
Simply fit a pastry bag with yogurt and your favorite decorating tip. If you don't happen to have a pastry bag, just fill a standard ziploc bag and snip off one corner.
Drop dollops of yogurt onto a wax paper lined baking sheet.
Put the tray of yogurt drops into the freezer for at least an hour.
When you take them out of the freezer, you will have a perfectly refreshing, and healthy summer snack.
These drops melt so quickly that I haven't had much luck in transporting them to the pool before they melt.
Once the drops are frozen, I put them into a Tupperware container to store them in my freezer. These definitely don't last long in my house.
I want to know what you do to stay cool on a hot summer day. Send me your "Cool" summer fun ideas.
Ciao!
You are so inventive in making cool treats! I like how you were able to make different versions of yogurt. What I love the most are the frozen fruit smoothies. They look very delicious and refreshing. I bet your family loved what you prepared for them! Those are some great treats for the scorching hot summer.
ReplyDeleteLiving in Georgia has taken some getting used to. Most of the year, I love the warm weather but July and August can be downright oppressive. I've have to come up with creative ways to keep my family cool in the summer.
